How we score HRT platforms.

HRT Picks is an independently operated comparison site for HRT telehealth providers. We are not a medical provider. Nothing on this site is medical advice.

The score

Each platform gets a composite score from 0 to 10. The score is the weighted sum of five dimensions:

• Cost (25%) — entry price, medication inclusion, insurance acceptance, total first-year cost
• Formulary breadth (20%) — modalities offered (patch, gel, oral, cream, pellet, injection), brand-name vs compounded
• Clinical depth (20%) — clinician credentials, menopause specialization, lab workup quality, follow-up cadence
• Patient experience (20%) — onboarding clarity, response times, support channels, app polish
• Transparency (15%) — upfront pricing, methodology disclosure, FTC compliance, no hidden fees

The firewall

We earn commissions when readers sign up with some — not all — of the platforms listed. Disclosed on every page.

The score is methodology-only. Affiliate status never moves rank. A 7.0-rated provider never gets promoted above a 7.5-rated one because the lower-scored partner pays more. Within a score band, tie-breaks can favor higher-payout partners — but the score floor is non-negotiable.

How we update

Prices and formulary are reverified monthly. The full rubric is recomputed when underlying evidence changes (a clinical model shift, a pricing change, a regulatory event). The methodology itself is versioned — when it changes, we re-score every provider and document what moved.
